The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2014. Goal of the department is to create technically competent, socially responsible Civil engineers committed for sustainable development. Department of Civil Engineering offers under graduate program leading to Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering with an annual intake of 60 students.
The Department has a team of 12 faculty members with academic excellence in various fields of Civil Engineering and industrial exposure. The Department regularly organises invited talks from eminent personalities from academia, industries and research organization for interaction with students and faculty. Department is equipped with 6 laboratories as per the guidelines of AICTE to cater teaching and research needs.
The department also provides an opportunity for students in improving communication and presentation skills, knowledge of software like Auto CAD, STAAD PRO, BHIM, Arc GIS and Rivet Architecture.
Department of Civil Engineering in known for its Industry-Institute-Interaction, conducting technical activities, site visits. Internship in reputed Civil Engineering firms has been made as a part of their curriculum, on a regular basis. Department is a Organizational Life member of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) and student chapters. The department is having MOU with industries and organizations for research & development activities and knowledge sharing..The Department has excellent facilities for imparting training/courses to engineering & other faculty, students, community, etc. The department is striving for excellence in research, teaching and service, covering the fundamental as well as applied aspects of Civil Engineering.
Imparting the technological education at three different levels like primary, secondary and tertiary is the unique ideology of the Sapthagiri College of Engineering. The vision of the Foundation is to Create Technically Competent, Research Oriented and Ethically Robust Civil Engineers to address the current and future challenges of the society. We aim towards making every student from Foundation to be a true asset for the Nation and a noble human being for the world across nurtured with the technological versatility.
Civil engineering being one of the core and most fundamental engineering branches is fully dedicated towards the same teaching and learning philosophy of the Foundation. We take it as our moral and social responsibility to imbibe the state of art technological information to be forwarded to the student fraternity of Civil engineering. In the modern world of construction where we witness every day as a day of a new construction method, material and skill, it is very much important to forward the same to the students by means of latest teaching aids and by providing an equal and proper learning platform. Hence with a team of dozen of highly qualified and experienced faculty members we offer the most enjoyable and effective learning to all the students.
Students, enjoy the regular industrial visits based on their curriculum and scope of the study. As a result we - the faculty also rejoice an enriched learning mass and remain well tuned and energized for the challenges to be overcome. Civil engineers are always at work to build the safe and stable habitat for the mankind and at Sapthagiri we are committed to carve the future in the class rooms and labs.
