Science and technology have always played an important part in man's existence, even though our ancestors may not have called their knowledge and skill by these names. Today, science and technology have become more complex as we learn more about our universe and develop ways of changing it.
Chemistry department has come into existence with the inception of the institute in the year 2001. Chemistry department imparts fundamental applied chemistry knowledge to the budding engineers to enable them employ the chemistry skills in the technical filed and also a well planned practical sessions to make the students more skillful. Department has six faculty members having good experience in teaching and research which is reflected in good results in VTU examinations. Faculty members are encouraged to attend the conference/workshops and also to publish/present research papers in journals and conferences.
Chemistry department headed by Dr B. S. Krishna associating with the institute since 2001 and having more than 20 years teaching experience. He has completed his MSc from Bangalore University and PhD from Bangalore University. He has published more than 10 research papers in reputed national and international journals and also presented research papers in various conferences. He was staff selection committee member for recruiting scientific officer grade level in Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Government of India, Bangalore. He worked as Chemistry composite VTU- BOE member for the academic year 2015-16 and 2018-19.
